What's happening at Girl Scouts of Hawai'i

Did you catch Cadette Girl Scout troop 377's Community Minute on KITV? This group of girls took action against breast cancer and hosted a Scouting for the Cure event as part of their Silver Award project, the highest award a Cadette can earn for outstanding displays of leadership and community service.
These Girl Scouts, their families, and their friends rallied together in early October not only to promote breast cancer awareness, but also early detection. Over 70 community members joined their cause and helped the girls hand craft more than 500 bracelets--each with a unique note of inspiration--and t-shirts to distribute amongst Susan G. Komen Hawaii 2011 Race for the Cure participants. The group also sewed comfort pillows and made personalized cards especially for those currently undergoing treatment.
On race day the girls of troop 377 showed up early and positioned themselves at mile markers along the route with signs of encouragement in hand to cheer on all that passed by. KITV caught up with them prior to getting started, click here to watch.
